Ōhiwa Oyster Farm Tour

- Duration: 90 Minutes (approx.)
- Location: Whakatāne, Bay of Plenty
Step into the world of Ōhiwa’s finest oysters with this hands-on sea-to-table experience. Guided by our local team, you’ll wade out across the tidal flats of our working oyster farm, the only tour in Aotearoa where you can walk out to the farm and pick your own oysters straight from the water.
Learn the stories of Ōhiwa Harbour, discover how oysters are grown and harvested, and experience the rhythm of the tides that shape their flavour. Back at our waterfront Weka Lounge, enjoy a shucking lesson, a condiments and garnish station, and a tasting platter featuring freshly harvested oysters and other seasonal kaimoana.
Māori owned and operated, this unique experience blends culture, sustainability, and incredible flavour, all set against the stunning backdrop of Ōhiwa Harbour and nearby Ōhope Beach.
